Pending Medicaid, any advice on having an alternate plan if not approved?

Remove resident from nursing home and then what? How to pay the accumulated bill...I do not really envision it not to being approved. But having a back up care plan would be wise in case of no approval.

I suppose one can make phone calls in interim to public resources for input?

Would Agency On Aging be able to plan for worse case?

Are you concerned about covid-19 for yourself? It is rampant in nursing homes right now. My MIL's was free of it up until 2 weeks ago. Now at least 2 residents have died and over 20 people are sick (last I heard, which was 3 days ago and the numbers go up every day).

No, you do not remove resident from nursing home (unless you feel comfortable and are confident you can take care of resident at home). You tell them you cannot adequately care for resident, you cannot take him/her home. Resident would be turned over to APS and likely be made ward of the State.
