Can I get paid for being a caregiver thru the cash /counseling grant?

i take care of both my parents my dad just got off of hospice but i can not work right now through this pademic so is there any help for me just while we are going thru this my parents are 81 & 83 but i have my own bills

Yes you can. Cash & counseling is a Medicaid program, it’s self directed. Your mother can hire you as her caregiver.

Mddavis, can you provide a little more information? In reading your profile it is not clear whether your mom is already a Medicaid recipient or if you are wondering whether to apply? To my knowledge there is no "free money" to get paid to provide care. I don't think family members can get paid, and even if they did (thru a social program) it wouldn't be full-time and it would probably be minimum wage. Family members can always be paid through state programs. Cash & counseling is a Medicaid program. Every state has at least program that will Pay family caregivers.
