Suggestions for house cleaning and lawn care help?

If you use Facebook or Nextdoor, ask for recommendations in your local groups. I see people asking for recommendations and advertising their services all the time. My mother just used her local Facebook group to find a housecleaning agency, $110 every 2 weeks for a 2400sq fr home. Very reasonable.

tomd2bowe, I no longer mow my lawn and had to hire someone over a decade ago to do the seasonal mowing [still have the same guy], and hire another person to do the yard clean up in the spring and fall as the lawn mowing guy "hates leaves" :P

As Geaton777 had mentioned, the Nextdoor.com forum. It's great. Everyone tends to use their real names and subdivision locations. If you live in a populated area, all it takes is one person asking if anyone knows someone who can mow lawns, and before you know it there are a dozen of answers.

tomd2bowe, unfortunately this isn't a jobs forum. You can call your local senior center, check Nextdoor.com, craigslist.org, or your local area's Council on Aging. If you are low income, you can contact social services for an assessment (I don't think they do lawn care but do offer some light housekeeping services if you qualify). You can also contact an in-home care agency, like Visiting Angels.

Check with the student union at the local college and university. They very often have underclassmen looking for casual work.

I used this in western Colorado and western New York. It seems that the universities all have some sort of program like this.
