How can I get assistance or paid to take care of my father who is a veteran and only has Medicare. He can not work anymore and will be home?

He had several heart attacks that he didn't know he had and had to have emergency triple bypass open heart surgery and they replaced the left atrial valve withe a prosthetic valve. He has an abdominal aortic valve that they will have to work on at a later date. My father has COPD and emphysema.
