How can I help my aunt get back land that was swindled from her?

My elderly aunt was tricked out of land that had been in our family for generations. This is prime land located on a rural highway. The guy who bought it gave her $30,000 for 40 acres. Similar land in the area not on the highway is selling 40 acres for $117,000. My aunt has some dementia which the guy was aware of. What can I do to get the land back?

Call the district attorney then if that doesn't work call the Attorney General in your state. This person may have a history of doing this. Is the property in a floodway or floodplain? Maybe there are things you don't know about the property? You can check for flooding information on FEMA's map site.

Where is the rest of her family?

Swindled in what way? Who prepared the deed transfer document for the sale? Where was it signed? How was your aunt paid? How long ago was the sale made? Does "some dementia" mean a formal diagnosis? How long ago? If she's living alone, how much help does she have? What does local law enforcement have to say?

Indeed - there are too many variables (and not enough information) here to address the question accurately.

This person took advantage of an impaired Senior. That is against the law. You need an attorney.
