Keep good records. If her needs exceed her savings she may need Medicaid. Medicaid won’t readily help if her savings have been gifted. What constitutes gifting to Medicaid can be complicated. So records must be kept and all mom’s money must be spent on her. How you pay caretakers needs to keep these factors in mind.
With Mom's money, whatever she can afford. She spends her money until she qualifies for state assistance or Medicaid. Go to social services or Area on Aging, they may be able to help.
