Do I go to the ER or just continue to monitor bp and behavior?

My husband is acting loopy. He told his morning aide that he couldn’t shower because we have no water and that all of the power is down. BP was high all day yesterday except an hour or two after his meds. High again this morning until an hour after his meds. He asked me how I liked where the house was moved to...? I explained that the house is in the same place. He also wanted to know why I filled the bathtub with cement. We got through the early afternoon and then as he was eating lunch he asked what and when is dinner. Can high blood pressure cause his strange thoughts or is it just the ALZ? I hate the idea of him (and me) sitting in the ER for hours to find that it’s something I can do for him at home. He has no other symptoms and everything else is his “normal” abnormal.

Ty for replying. His BP has been good for a couple of hours now. I did call his dr and the VA clinc. If it goes back up I’m taking him to the ER.

I would call his doctor and ask what to do.

He could have suffered a stroke, especially with chronically high blood pressure. That said, I'd get him to the ER for an evaluation. I know the aggravation of waiting endlessly in the ER, but with the way he's acting, I think the not-knowing is worse than the waiting.

BEST OF LUCK!!!
