Can a widowed spouse keep VA Aid and Attendance benefits after remarriage?

JoAnn29 Oct 2019
Before the marriage, I would see how SS and any pension will be effected. Some companies have a clause that if a surviving spouse remarries, they lose the pension.

Here is what the VA website has to say on the matter:

Remarriage does not affect your surviving spouse eligibility for “Aid and Attendance” if you meet all the following requirements: You were married to your veteran spouse at the time of his death.

Best of luck!

Thank you! That gives me hope that a marriage of two elderly people who really care for each other can be happy together the remainder of their lives. You are a great help, lealonnie1!!
