Today I placed my husband with FTD into permanent care.

I asked this question when I was touring AL/MC homes, the consensus that the range was 2.5-3.0 years. Beyond that I do not know, my step father is on dialysis. the doctor said that this would extend his life, due to his advanced age, for around 3 years, it's been 6.

Ahhh, Panda, such a difficult decision. Others will be along that have experienced the loss of a loved one with FTD and how long until they passed.

My mom was not diagnosed with FTD but she passed almost two years to the day after she was placed.
