My dad needs a shower aide. He just REALLY doesn't want his daughter assisting him. Where do I start looking for one?

Eagle, call your local caregiving Agencies and ask if they have a "Bath Aide" and find out what is the cost. I have heard that these Aides are really great about getting an elder to bathe/shower :)

I remember when my Dad first had caregivers, he was very shy about having them help him when showering. One day one of the caregivers put her hands on her hips and said "Mr. Bob, I raised a houseful of boys, there isn't anything I haven't seen". That got my Dad laughing, and that caregiver had no problems helping him shower.

THEY are so weird about the shower issue. His doctor can order this. Contact his doc. Get a shower chair, but talk to doc first.
