How to save assets when applying for Medicaid?

anonymous901498 May 2019
Medicaid was established for the truly poor. Hiding assets from the government is considered fraud. Assets should be used for care, not to save for inheritances. Get an elder care lawyer who can maybe help you beat the system.

What kind of assets do you want to save? This is usually done way before you think about applying for Medicaid. Do you want it for longterm care or just for insurance.

Medicaid is for those who have no assets. Those whose income is low. Trying to hide assets is considered fraud. Medicaid has a 5 yr look back.

If you’re applying for medicaid within 5 years, you’re going to have to consult a good elder care attorney to help you. Average cost in my small town area is $400 per hour.
