My mother is 72 and I sacrificed my job, relationship, and home to be her caregiver. Now she makes my life less pleasant, nicely put. Help!

She's getting meaner and harder to get along with, and acts like I'm the hired help!

Are the details on your profile correct? That's quite a list of issues you've taken on; and at 72 your mother is young for all this.

How long have you been living with your mother?
How much information and support do you have related to her conditions?
What options are you considering for her care from here?

Sacrifices are always made when we devote our lives to caring for our elderly parents. Everyone gives up parts or all of their life to do so. Rarely does it turn out "pleasant." It usually turns out with resentment, burnout, guilt, obligation, and frustration.

At least hired help gets paid.
