My mom gets Medicaid support for her stay in the nursing home. Will Medicaid assist with funeral, memorial, burial, or cremation costs?

Call your Medicaid office and see what they say. I know in my nephews Special Needs Trust, I cannot use any of the money for a funeral and the money goes to Medicaid upon his passing.

Actually Medicaid does help pay for funeral costs provided the eligibility requirements are met. The amounts vary by state. they won’t pay anywhere near the full cost of a funeral though. Some states do have a cap on the total cost of the funeral-$2500 total with Medicaid covering just $1500. Good luck having a funeral that costs no more than $2500!

Not as far as I understand it. But any money that there is you can use to pre pay funeral costs.
Is by chance your Mom a Veteran? If so a small bit will come from the VA. (I stress small here)

This should have been done during spend down. There is no money now.
