We care for my husband’s mother (91) in our home. We might have to put her in a nursing home. Do we declare an outstanding loan to Medicaid?

One of my husband’s siblings has an outstanding loan to be paid to his mother. Do we have to declare this to put his mother on Medicaid?

Begin the application process. This may have to be disclosed. If the loan can not be paid back then it will probably delay the acceptance.
Please consult an Elder Care Attorney for accurate information.
It may also have to do with how old the loan is. Is it from this past 4 or 5 years or is is older?

Thank you for your response to my question. I think our next step will be to see an Elder Care Attorney.
