Oh gosh. I tried to talk my mom out of buying hearing aids because quite frankly, I knew she was not ever going to be able to manage. Alas I was right but 6k later.
They are now all digital. Some are over the ear with a fitted mold, some are inner ear 3 where its molded to ur ear. If the thought of a mold bothers you, there are over the ear with tubing that enters the ear.
The cost depends on what you need. My husband's hearing was caused by an accident that effected the nerves and bone. He does not care for the in the ear type. He sweats a lot and seems to short them out.
Kplagge, best thing to do is to have the person get an hearing test. And from there the audiologist will recommend what would work best for the situation.
