Regarding "Compensation of Trustee," is this amount each year or a one-time only compensation?

In my parents' Family Revocable Trust, my brother, the Trustee of my parents' Will shall be compensated for services performed in the administration of this Trust not to exceed three percent (3%) of the Trust estate.

Question: is this 3% each year or a one time only compensation?

Thank you for helping me out.

Agreeing with others here, it's an annual amount. I've seen similar language before in my family's Trust documents.

We listed our son in our will as receiving a larger cash payout than his sibs, upfront from the estate, so he would not have the extra taxable income.

It is annually! It can add up, but as the wife of a trustee for his father's complex estate and several trusts, it's not enough.

It’s annually. Up to 3% annually while he’s performing services as trustee.
