How do we deal with a refusal to take meds?

Refuses to take Parkinson's meds when he is upset at a caregiver.

I agree with Ahmijoy about putting his meds in his food however never crush up any kind of med without talking to the doctor first. The administration of a crushed med may be different than the administration of that med in pill form.

Very true. Especially if it’s in a time-release capsule.

Is this a hired caregiver or a member of your family? If it’s a hired caregiver, it may be a personality clash. You say in your profile that Dad is already upset because he thinks you’re stealing his money. There are probably other behaviors of his that as time goes on, will make your life more and more difficult. As far as the meds he won’t take, you may have to resort to hiding them in his food. You can’t badger and cajole him into taking them. That won’t work. Bribery might work too. His favorite treat if he takes his pills.
