My mother has dementia. She lives in an assisted living memory care facility. Her mobility is very limited, but she ends up on the floor.

She uses a walker. Recently, she has been getting out of bed and the PCA finds her sitting on floor. Yesterday, she was in TV room she got up out of chair by herself and she was lying on the floor in a sleeping position. No one ever observes her falling. She just gets up and sits on the floor and yesterday she got up and laid down. I had just visited her 2 hours before. What is going on?

Thank you for your response. My mother has a bed alarm. She uses a walker and when she gets up from her chair, she just sits on the floor or lay down. I wasn't aware of an alarm that you can wear on your person.

It sounds like she needs to be wearing an alarm for when she gets up. You should speak with the nurse to ask them how you go about getting one.
