A TIA shows there is a problem with the blood supply to the brain. My father had multiple TIA's and developed vascular dementia. My sister had a TIA last Christmas ad according to her daughter is showing signs of early dementia.
It is important that the person get evaluated by a doctor, as in some cases there is treatment for the condition causing the TIA.
