Rinehart, not yet - do you mean your loved one may need hospice soon? It only takes an estimate that the doc would not be surprised if she passed in the next 6 months. That might be worth looking into for additional services and the respite stay. Most people wait too long to take advantage of all hospice offers.

Yes, it's called Respite Care. Call around to NH's local to you and ask if they have respite beds and what the cost is. Your loved one will need a TB test and a current physical examination , so make an appointment to get that underway.
Ask each NH what they require in terms of admission paperwork. There may be a minimum required stay.
I would err on the side of having your loved one start their stay at least a week in advance of when you need to be away so as to leave time for you to work out the kinks. There are ALWAYS kinks at the beginning of a NH stay, in my experience.
