What if only one child is given medical POA?

I’m in a situation where my parents want to give me only medical POA while my brother will inherit all of the assets since he is my mom's favorite (the baby who is in his 40). I do not think this is fair, I get all the responsibilities while my brother gets compensated. I do feel bad because they are old, but I’m tired of always having to take care of everything and my brother who does nothing is always given everything. What should I do?

This sounds so familiar but I don't see where you have posted before.
I guess brother has financial? If so, tell them to give him medical too. And be honest that you are tired of all the responsibility but they don't seem to think you should inherit anything. Tell you right now it's because you're a girl. Girls are expected to do. Stick by your guns. Let brother have the responsibility. If u find they went against ur wishes, call the lawyer and tell him you decline.

So, turn down the POA. You don't have to accept it, you know.

Are there a lot of assets to inherit? If your parents need medical care near the end of life, that can wipe out all assets and nobody inherits anything. But that is neither here nor there. If you don't want to accept medical POA responsibility, don't!
