What are staffing rules on bathing?

So I know in a hospital there is always supposed to be 2 staff members when bathing a patient. At the residential facility I work at it’s only one staff member with the resident. Is that okay? Or should there be 2 staff members at a time to make sure nothing happens?

There are actually written guidelines and rules for bathing care in a facility.
Look up OSHA rules. I briefly looked these rules over, but did not see mentioned ratio of staff to patient for bathing safety.

Gladimhere is correct, safety would depend on many factors, vary according to the needs of the patient, and be required to be written in the care plan.

It depends, I am sure, and must appear in mom's care plan.

My mom always had just one person but I’m not sure about the rules. Why not ask the facility what their rule is. You might feel better after you discuss it with them.

Safety first rule.
