Does Medicaid take the final balance in mom's account after all the bills are settled?
(was 2yrs on assistance). About $500 left. No probate. I am designated trustee. Just wondered if I can disperse to Alzheimers Society what remains or if they will come after her last dollars. Thank you.
No, if ur talking about what is left after spend down. My Mom has less than $300. I asked if I could pay some small hospital bills out of it and then close the acct. I want to close the acct because too many entities have my Moms info. for direct deposits and electronic withdraw for bills. I was told thatcwas OK. I plan on seeing if that balance can be putvin her nursing home aact. But, I would call Medicaid to make sure.
