My 84-year-old mother is always sick, but doctors can't find anything. Is this common with dementia?

BarbBrooklyn Jul 2017
A couple of things; my mom, with dementia, can lo longer tell us when she's in pain or where it hurts. Thus, I've had the NH order regular pain relief ( she has arthitis, and has ALWAYS had headaches) with additional available if she still has the contorted "I'm in pain " face.

Second, many of us here have had good luck with having our elders seen by geriatric psychiatrists. Sometimes the Don't Feel Good is depression and anxiety.

She just says she feels terrible all the time. I have had her to the ER and Geriatric Specialist and no medical reason found.

What do you mean by "always sick"? What are her complaints? Pain? Not feeling "herself"?
