I was told Alzheimer's was in 3 stages. Now I'm hearing there are lots more. Can someone tell me where I can find the list?

Some groups use 7 stages and other groups use 3 -- mild, moderate, severe. Both are correct. I really prefer the 3 stages, since symptoms are so variable from person to person. People with Alz will have some symptoms that are like stage 4, others like stage 5, and yet others like stage 6. Trying to put someone in a certain stage is very arbitrary with most people. It is easier to understand the three stages.

I believe some people try to fit things into the 7 stage model to figure out how much longer it will be. This usually doesn't work, since people can spend many years in certain stages. It's not very good for predictive purposes.
