My sister has cervical cancer and is not expected to live much longer. Showers are up stairs. If not are there portable showers to rent for downstairs grooming?
graceton, chair lifts are great only if sister isn't afraid of using one. Before getting one, see if she could test drive one so she can get a feeling on how it works.
We used to give mom a chair bath on the bedside commode. We just put towels under it and the bucket off. We could wash and rinse her. We have a bag you can fill with warm water with a sprayer hose attached below (from Amazon) We washed her hair in the kitchen sink with a hair funnel. Now we give her bed baths using no rinse soap and a blow up basin for her hair with the bag with sprayer. You might check with hospice. If your sister is that far along, they will send someone to help with bathing 2-3 times per week.
