Can dementia or Alzheimer's patients endure stomach pain due to anxiety or stress?

jeannegibbs May 2017
dancingwithmom, waiting those weeks until the appointment is hard, isn't it? But at least you have the hope that help is down the road!

Good luck!

Thanks jeannegibbs - we have discussed with doc several times & she is on trazodone currently. I've tried to reason with her in the mornings that it is probably stress, but she seems to be determined it is bowel blockage or appendix, etc. All has been ruled out & she goes regularly with good bm. We are currently waiting on psychology apt in June. Hoping to get some help/meds at that time.

I personally was having stomach pain from anxiety and stress and im not the patient ,, right up around the rib cage and in my neck and shoulders .. a few days of xanex knocked it out

Yes. Or without stress. Dementia patients can experience pain without any discernible reason.

The anxiety and stress should be discussed with the patient's doctor.
