How long did it take for the hallucinations to go away with antibiotics?

To Anonymous 167. How long did it take for the hallucinations to go away with antibiotics? 3 day? 4 days? Weeks? I've been reading and reading and reading a bunch of articles, but no one seems to give an answer to this question or brings it up whatsoever. This was posted four years ago, but I'm hoping you will see it or someone else who can answer it. Thank you so much.

Is a UTI causing the halleucinations?

My mom is subject to frequent UTIs, some of which caused some strange 'doings' by mom. She has 'cut' bugs out of her undergarments, scooped little fish out of the sink, and even imagined 'worms' sticking their heads out of the skin on her arms and she would try to dig them out. These happenings were always a pretty darn good indicator. Even after a few days on antibiotics we would see some improvement and by the end of the 10 days she was usually back to normal. However, those UTI bacteria that required IV antibiotics were the ones that would keep her in the hospital for a few days. It takes a couple of days for a culture to grow and then the science of finding which antibiotic will best treat it.

Dear Michelle,

Have you tried talking to the doctor? I would think with treatment within a week you would see results. But if not, don't be afraid to go back to the doctor.
