Is power of attorney enough to get emergency guardianship?

igloo572 May 2017
Guardianship is a court order. So to be named guardian (or conservator) there will be a pretty distinct legal process to go through.

Sometimes if there is a crisis - like APS gets called in or there has been an accident or other sudden incapacity - an emergency ward of the state action can be done. But it too involves the court.

What is happening that needs a guardianship placed & ASAP? Lots of folks on this site have experience with getting things done with elders who cannot accept that they need help or are doing things that place them in jeopardy. But we'd need more info to better help you.
