Is there any assistance for Mom to help pay for assisted living so she can keep some of her income for medical and personal needs?

My mom is the widow of disabled veteran. Will CHAMPVA cover any costs for her moving into an assisted living center, care level 2?Her income from VA Benefits, Civil Service and Social Security come to only $3,189.00 a month. The best deal found in Crozet, VA for assisted living is $4,200. My mom also has daily scripts at about $150/month and has dementia.

If she's getting $3189/month doesn't that preclude her qualifying for Medicaid? I know it does in my state. If she is already getting a VA benefit, I am not sure there is anything else to help her, financially. Champva is basically insurance, so unless there is some medical reason, I doubt, just like any other insurance, that they will offer you benefits to cover cost of care.

Does she have assets (savings, investments, a house that could be sold?)

Is this facility one than accepts Medicaid after her funds are depleted?
