Is there a limit on the amount of money my mother can receive from her whole life insurance policy?
She will be entering a skilled nursing facility.

Is you mother on (or applying for) Medicaid? I can't think of other reasons for limits on life insurance. Insurance policies are counted as assets by Medicaid.
