If my husband goes on Medicaid and dies, will I get his social security monthly, or does that end because he was on Medicaid?

Judy, I noticed when my Mom had passed, her social security check had stopped immediately. Since my Dad's social security check was the higher of the two, he continued to receive his.

As geewiz noted above, being on Medicaid or not, it doesn't affect the stopping of the checks.

Judy, being on Medicaid does not affect future social security payments for the spouse. Here is the social security pamphlet that describes the various scenarios at the death of one partner. wwwdotssadotgov/pubs/EN-05-10084.pdf Please note that the surviving spouse does not get both her own benefit plus the deceased person's beneifit. Just the higher of the two. You can call social security (800) 772-1213 and ask questions specific to your situation.
