Can my mother get home care if she is on welfare or not working?

My mother just found out that she has stage 4 lung cancer and brain cancer as will, she has done all of her Raditation treatments. Now we have to wait 2 months in order for her to have another MRI done to see if the raditation treatments worked or not. I am praying everyday that is does.

Sorry your post got lost for 9 days Carlaw. I wonder if you would consider calling in hospice for help, you can speak to her doctor about it or just call some local agencies and ask for an evaluation. Don't discount it because you are hoping for a cure, they can be wonderfully helpful and if she improves she can be discharged from their care.

She should be eligible for Medicaid. If she has not already gotten it, apply now. She should also be able to get palliative care at home if she has both brain and lung cancer. She may even be able to get hospice care. She does not need to be dying for hospice care. I have heard they are a wonder.
