Relocation is disastrous, especially when the patient has dementia. Look into services for him right where he is. Transport across state lines has no funding from any source that I know of.
Minimybird, I noticed on your profile that your Dad lives at home. Does he rent or own? If he owns, the only thing he could do to get money for the move is to sell the house and use the equity for his relocation.
Usually if a grown child wants to move a parent from one State to another, the cost is self-pay.
Oh, is Dad on Medicaid? If so, once he leaves Florida and crosses into another State, his Medicaid stops. He will need to apply and be accepted in California.
