How can I treat a cold for later stage Alzheimer's?

Has had cold syntoms 2 days. Hasnt/ won't eat or drink ...a lititle
Has brought end stage .. but always hopeful

If you mean he is coughing, it may not be a cold at all, but some aspiration of saliva. Pretty common at the end stages. Talk it over with the Hospice nurse.

Is he on hospice care? The nurse can give you suggestions for keeping him comfortable.

When my husband didn't feel much like eating or drinking he did enjoy Popsicles. Might your grandfather like that?

Do you ever call the nurse help line provided by his clinic or insurance company? They will ask a series of questions, such as whether he has a fever, when the symptoms started, etc. and then either provide some specific suggestions or tell you whether he should be seen by a doctor. I've used this service for years and think it is a wonderful resource.
