My mom can only walk backwards not forwards?

Miemie Dec 2016
LindaSusan, I am so sorry your daughter has CP, another awful disease. But, yes, you are right, and when this condition effects me, I have no control over my movements walking FORWARD and it looks as tho I have CP! However, I can walk BACKWARDS perfectly! And, the strangest thing is that I have never fallen. The neurosurgeon at the Mayo clinic diagnosed me.

I don't understand your comment Miemie. "Walking forward simulates someone that might have CP? My adult daughter has CP and attends a CP center where lots of clients have this condition, but no one there walks backwards. Please explain?? Maybe you meant to type backwards, not forwards?

While you're waiting for your mother's neurology appointment, keep her away from unfamiliar environments where she might walk into something she cannot see.

There is a condition called Mixed Conversion Disorder that can cause this. Walking forward simulates someone that might have cerebral palsy. And, to confirm this diagnosis, they never fall!! And, yes, do go to a neurologist.
