If she protects him, how do you know that she is being abused? If APS investigated and she claimed all was well and she is fine, they'd have to have pretty convincing evidence to go against her account. Do you have such evidence? What is it and how do you have it?
Does GM have dementia? Is she the one that is telling you she is abused?
It must be very difficult for you to stand by and see her being mistreated. I am sure that you are sincere in wanting to help. It does make things harder if GM protects her son.
