Is there any transportation assistance for seniors to get to and from the hospital for same day surgery?

You are very close to the Detroit airport. Get a taxi or limo service to take you.

That is a good question to ask your doctor.... he/she might be more familiar with what is available in your immediate area.

Now, with some same day surgery [you'd be surprised what is now considered out-patience surgery, even open heart surgery].... you cannot leave the hospital unless you have someone there to help you get home and be at your home for a couple of days. Check with your doctor/surgeon.
