How to stop excessive saliva in mouth from Parkinson's?
My mother suffers from excessive saliva in mouth trying to get away from sweets, sour food and dairy. What is a good substitute for ensure she is loosing a lot of weight also.
My husband has Parkinson's disease & problems with drooling. He has been getting Botox treatments & that has helped with the problem. You might ask about Botox after other problems are resolved.
The drooling will be a result of her having difficulty swallowing her normal saliva rather than making too much. You can use a barrier cream to protect the corners of her mouth and chin if she drools. Her loss of weight could be due to her difficulty in swallowing normally, have you noticed any other symptoms of dysphagia?
