My son needs to connect with a worker to see about assistance with transportation and a caregiver.

He has Severe Chrons and some mental health issues is on SSI. Leaves on his own and does not know how to take control and care for himself. Needs someone to help him clean and cook how do I connect him to services? Where do we start? He is often depress and talks about dying all the time.

Is there some type of mental health services in his area? I know that in the state of Ohio, we have something called BVR (Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation) that does have resources that helps people like your son. I don't know where you or your son lives and if he has his own apartment or not. How old is he and is he in some kind of counseling? If he is, have him ask his doctor. Let him know that now is the time to start taking charge of his own life and start asking questions to get the ball rolling. If you died tomorrow, how is he going to make it in this world?
