Where to find a folded lightweight wheelchair down front steps myself?
we take van to go to drs. i want to get a folded lightweight wheelchair down front steps myself. My mom goes down steps holds on rail. When I get it down she will sit in it and driver go on van. how do i get it down stairs myself when it is closed.
I'm not sure exactly what your difficulty is.Depending on the type of chair, if you lock the brakes the wheels give you a good handle to grip. If you are struggling with the weight of the chair you can leave the brakes unlocked and ease the chair down the steps one at a time or place a board along the edge of the stairs to act as a ramp. I'm wondering though if you can't lift the chair how do you get it into the car?
