Can I see a doctor who doesn't accept Medicaid?

the dr said they would pro rate my office visit. I've found a great dr but they don't accept Medicaid, im on medicaid and want to know if i can legally see the dr that wont accept it?

You can see anybody you want as long as you pay the bill yourself. A typical office visit will cost you about $200 self-pay.

I don't know much about how that works, but, even if you did see this doctor, how would you pay for it? What if he ordered blood tests, x-rays, therapy, etc. That would entail hundreds or even thousands of dollars of out of pocket costs to you.

I'm not sure I understand what prorating the visit means. Hopefully, you'll get some responses from others who are familiar with that.

Do you have Medicare as your primary coverage and Medicaid as your secondary? Have you discussed it with your Medicaid case worker?
