Does anyone know the states that will accept out of state Medicaid for lung transplant operation?

I have stage 4 COPD which makes me eligible for lung transplant. I contacted UCLA Medical Center and was told that they do not accept out of state Medicaid. I need to know if there is any facilities that will except out of state Medicaid.

Sometimes there is a reciprocity program between states. Check with your caseworker as baba suggested. I would check into getting the surgery done in the state your Medicaid is in.

As a general answer, Medicaid does not work out of state, as it is a state specific program. There may be exceptions. I would talk to your Medicaid caseworker.
