Is there a department that investigates elder abuse?

I would like to report a possible case. An elderly woman (82 yrs old )is living with her son who fails to care for her appropriately. It appears he is depleting her income. Please advise. Thank you.

Anne, may I ask how do you know that the son might be taking his Mom's income, and failing to take care of her? What are the mother's medical issues? Any memory loss? Are you friends with the mother and she is telling you these things?

Call Adult Protective Services. I think its the same agency that does the Child Protective Services. Department of Social Services.
