Is there a way to find low cost/ no cost dental care for the elderly?

My dads teeth are getting really bad. It breaks my heart to see him with cavities, decay and broken teeth.. I got him to go to a dentist and he was quoted 20k to fix it all. He is on social security and has no assets or cash... I help out but I can't cover that... Any advice or guidance is appreciated.. We live in Tampa, fl if it helps or matters. Dad is a Vet that gets medical care at the VA.

My mother desperately needs dental care, she gets $1000 a month from SS and after living expenses rent there barely enough $$ for food. The individual income limit is around $900 for food stamps eligability, its very tough ( i am disabled myself and take care of her). This is truly a nightmare, dental care issues are deadly, i havs no idea how i can help her.

Victor, ask Dad's dentist what dental plans are available and call those insurance companies. Chances are if you find one with a reasonable monthly premium fee, it won't kick in for 6 months.
