If an individual is sent to a hospital from a nursing home during his first 20 days, are these days in the hospital count against the 20?

I do not understand the question. Had he been in the hospital, then taken to a nursing home, then back into the hospital?

Is it the twenty days paid by Medicare for rehab that you are wondering about? I would think the twenty days would start over again if he is again discharged to a nursing home. But, I am not sure.
