Can you move a parent to a different care home if you have a financial power of attorney?

Can you move a parent to a different care home if you have a financial power of attorney. Current care home refusing to let him move.

We have found a brand new care home near to where we live in Hampshire. Father is in care home in Yorkshire. We have financial p of a for him. He originally agreed to move down here but now the Yorkshire care home say he wants to stay with them! I can't speak to him on phone. He is a 6 hour drive away by car. I have no idea how he is or even what his wishes are .. Any suggestions please ..

Make the drive and find out what your father wants - long drive but an easy solution to figuring out what he wants. Unless you are fathers guardian you cannot make him move. No offense - but you don't seem overly involved in his care. Why move him if he is happy there?
