My Dad has dementia and refuses to take any of his medicines. How do you get him to take it?

How can we get him to take his medications? He refuses doesn't matter who tries to get him to take them.

vlmcd06, my Mom finally would take her pills crushed up in chocolate ice cream. But as STP mentioned above, check with your Dad's doctor first about crushing the pills.

STP Jan 2016
Can you crush those pills and mixed with applesauce or yogurt, ice cream?
Well some meds are not suppose to be crush.... speak to his Dr or nurse?

Any idea what his "reasoning" is? Could it be paranoia that often comes with dementia or is it perhaps a loss of will to live? Knowing what his reasons are could help define an approach.
