Salary for a CNA/Caregiver?

Working at a facillity or Private

assandache7 Dec 2015
I agree.. We are always commenting on here that we are underpaid (meaning NOT paid) and advising other to NOT take your parents in because it's a thankless, tiring job..

I know you do all the work as a CNA and corporate America reaps the benefits.. Unfortunately without a degree in Health Sciences that will not change..

Thank you for caring.. We need more of your kind in the world..

I have often thought that those to whom we entrust our most vulnerable, small children and frail elders, are not compensated fairly for the duties they perform. No, it doesn't take an advanced degree to clean dirty bottoms or all the other tasks you do daily, but the responsibility for another's health and well being is huge! Unfortunately the reality is that many of the best burn out and move on or become bitter and uncaring. THANK YOU for what you do.

The Hardest part for me is i have more time taking care other than taking care for both of my parents. Im working very hard hoping for a change Im doing this for my wife and both of my parents. My patience is solid with love and care. I hope some changes will come soon i pray to God to always guide me to right direction and watch my family all the time.

My concern that i just want to share and relieve me from stress thingking about it everytime i recieve my check from working at a facillity as a CNA. They always say at a inservice that as a CNA we have one of the important task when it comes to caring Elderly Residents or Patients. I agree on that 100% like what i always hear prontline of the healthcare team. But how about when it comes to our salary, health matters. Facillities are just taking advantage from left to right to CNA or Caregivers. The work we handle everyday is much to handle for a minimum wage salary . I've know Cna worked for 22years being paid 15ph. That's 22 years of his or here life being takin advantage by facillities that never care to there employee. Its sad to see how owners ingage in taking care but all they care was themselves. I don't have any against taking care of my elderly family or patients. I like working as a CNA i learned a lot for 5years. Just to think that everytime i bring home my check its not always enough for my family inspite the work we do and the heavy stress we deal everyday. Most facillity will never give a care about it. If they see you slacking tired obcourse in some way you will get fired if your lucky enough to get unemployment thats if your dsd is nice enough to back you up. But the chances out of a thousand is point one only. Just one this to get off my chest no offense .
