Alcohol and dementia meds. Any advice?

Does anyone know if the meds taken for dementia can cause literally one beer to impair a person taking dementia medication. My husband had ONE beer at dinner and could barely walk out of the restaurant. It certainly was not the first time he has had a beer is 83 years. I'm just wondering if something else had happened. He was like that till bedtime. About 3 hours later. That makes no sense to me.

Thank u for your response. I use their knowledge all the time. He has been on the same meds for years. I will call them , however, and as if it is possible for this reaction after a period of time. Thanks

Gorlin, when I get new meds the pharmacy supplies a multi-page document citing proper usage, side effects and contra indications. If you don't have this or don't want to wade through it just pick up the phone and ask the pharmacist.
Did you know it takes as much education to become a pharmacist as it does to become a doctor? I think we often forget that pharmacists are specialists in medications and their effects and under-utilize their expertise, relegating them to the roll of pill counter.
